Pourquoi choisir ce titre si mystérieux ? Je vous avoue que je me suis posée la question vu que le lien avec le pitch du film de Christophe Ali et Nicolas Bonilauri est très mince : La volante pour désigner le poste de secrétaire remplaçante qui s’accomode très bien de ce statut précaire.
Nathalie Baye interprête Marie-France, cette secrétaire qui va travailler pour Thomas (Malik Zidi), un homme d’affaires dans l’urbanisme. Cette situation pourtant simple s’avère beaucoup plus complexe à la lumière de faits passés. 9 ans auparavant, en emmenant sa femme accoucher à la maternité, Thomas percute en voiture un jeune homme qui traversait sous une pluie battante : le fils de Marie-France.
Why choosing such a so mysterious movie title? I confess that I asked myself why since the link with the pitch of Christophe Ali and Nicolas Bonilauri’s film is very thin: « La volante » to designate the alternative secretary which accommodates very well with this precarious status.
Nathalie Baye interprets Marie-France, the secretary who will work for Thomas (Malik Zidi), a businessman in urban planning. This simple situation is much more complex in the light of past events. 9 years ago, taking his wife at the maternity to give birth, Thomas hits while driving, a young man crossing the road under a heavy rain: Marie-France’s son.

Toute la subtilité du rôle de Nathalie Baye dans ce thriller repose sur la confusion des sentiments qui s’expriment en elle : désespoir de la perte d’un enfant, volonté de reconstruction par la confrontation avec celui qui a causé involontairement sa perte.
En même temps, elle est aussi prédatrice, secrète, manipulatrice. Son comportement est en apparence normal mais sous-jacent, on ressent le poids des remarques trop calmes, des silences, des sourires forcés pour continuer à vivre en société.
All the subtlety of the role of Nathalie Baye in this thriller is based on the confusion of feelings expressed in her: despair of losing a child, reconstruction will by the confrontation with the one who caused unintentionally his ruin.
At the same time, she is also predatory, secret, manipulative. Her behavior is appearantly normal but you can feel underlying the weight of too calm remarks, silences, forced smiles, in order to continue to live in society.


L’intrigue du film La Volante tient donc à un fil, mais cela a peu d’importance. C’est un thriller psychologique très bien interprété. Jean Stan le Parc, qui joue l’enfant de Thomas dans l’histoire, est aux coté des adultes, bouleversant de maturité.
Le film La Volante sort en Septembre sur les écrans. J’ai eu la chance de le voir en avant-première au cinéma Le Grand Action à Paris.
