J’ai eu l’occasion de retrouver Giorgia, la créatrice de la marque italienne Saisei au salon Tranoï à Paris, il y a quelques semaines de cela. Si vous ne connaissez pas encore cette marque, j’avais déjà fait un article de présentation ici.
Sa nouvelle collection est toujours à base des toiles brutes militaires et cuir, revisités avec des traitements d’enduit et de peinture. Les modèles 2013 sont de taille moyenne et très modulables, pour intégrer une poche extérieure qui se transforme en pochette à porter en bandoulière par exemple, ou encore une bande sur le haut d’un autre sac, qui se transforme en ceinture lorsque l’envie vous en prend.
Ce que j’aime particulièrement chez Saisei, c’est la facture luxueuse très soignée qui vient s’opposer paradoxalement avec les matières brutes, pour une dégaine boyish chic, pas fifille, très élégante et intemporelle.
I had the opportunity to meet Giorgia, the designer of the Italian brand Saisei in the Tranoï fair of Paris, a few weeks ago. If you don’t already know this brand, I had already made a presentation post here.
The new collection is always based on raw military canvas and leather revisited with plaster and paint treatments. 2013 models are medium size and very flexible to integrate for example an external pocket that turns to be a shoulder strap pocket, or a band on top of another bag that turns into a belt when the urge takes you.
What I particularly like in Saisei is very neat luxurious manufacturing that is paradoxically at the opposite of the raw materials used, for a boyish chic quickdraw, not girly, but elegant and timeless.
